Topic: Hogwarts Legacy

Here we go!

The game really lived up to the hype. Unfortunately I have to wait for the PS4 version But Hogwarts will still be there!

I've RE-watched the movies and RE-read the books in preparation for the game!

The opening scene when the main protagonist "gain" the ability to see the Thestrals really shows the dedication of the devs for details!

I have no idea how the Switch is going to handle this game. I’m really curious.

Loving it so far. Hogsmeade is so comfy. Hogwarts is a maze, though. I'd be wandering the halls forever if not for the dotted line GPS thing. Playing it on hard mode and it's actually quite tough, too.

@Bentleyma I don't think the devs do either, hence the sizeable delay. We're probably talking 360p, unstable 30fps, no AA, muddy textures, basically sub-minimum PC settings.

@Matroska They should have gone the cloud route. I’m not a fan of cloud gaming, but I think in this case it would be understandable. But hey, there have been some really impressive Switch ports, so maybe they’ll surprise us.

Just as a heads up, people are spoiling the game because they're pathetic. I've encountered a fair share of spoilers, so be warned.

I gotta say, this game is better than I was expecting and I was expecting it to be good. I think it sits up there with The Witcher 3 and Red Dead Redemption 2 as one of the most detailed and interesting worlds I’ve explored.

@Bentleyma I fully agree the world is extremely detailed. You can clearly see they put a lot of work into the little details. I just love to explore the world and stand still a lot to just admire the world they created. Even while I'm not a big fan of the Harry Potter movies. I'm only 6 hours in so not that far yet, but I'm loving what I'm seeing until now.
Also a positive to mention is the game seems to be practically bug and glitch free. I haven't encountered a single one yet and that seems to be rare for modern open world games.

@Lavalera I’ve been playing for about 9 hours and the only issue I’ve had is the occasional floor textures not loading right in front of my character while running around the countryside.

My copy just turned up and… not gonna lie, I’m a bit tempted to screw the backlog and just play it. Don’t think I will like… but definitely tempted.

For the fans

I've just had a dispatch notification for my copy. Hopefully it should be here in time to play on Saturday when I'll be breaking out the any flavoured beans and butterbeers.

Even a screenshot of me just standing in a field looks good and makes me want to get home from work and play it!

My copy has arrived. Time to get this thing loaded and downloading the patch.

@render are you doing your own playthrough and another separate one with the kids?

@MatthewJP All the good comments I'm hearing about the game I'm honestly thinking about starting a second play through for me so I can make good progress. They don't half like to mess around in a game and I know that's going to be doubly true with this game. It also gives me the option to go with a different house etc whereas I know that they will want to go with Gryffindor for obvious reasons.

Anyone else facing issues to change language in the game? I installed English language pack, even uninstalled the standard one, still the game won't change or offer language options.

Better late than never. I was expecting this with the morning post but it just got dropped off by courier. It'll have to wait until tomorrow, then. Oh well.

@LN78 We’ve waited this long for a good Harry Potter game, I’m sure you can wait a few more hours!
