As the hype for Atomic Heart, the pseudo-Soviet action RPG set during a robot apocalypse, approaches critical mass, so too does the video game marketing machine. Case in point, this live-action Atomic Heart trailer starring none other than Jensen Ackles, AKA heartthrob Dean Winchester, the older brother from Supernatural.
What follows is our instruction into "The Atomic Way" of doing things: applying massive blunt force trauma to various robots, ripping and tearing cyborgs into their component viscera, and incinerating mechanoids with blasts of techno-lightning.
It's all pretty awesome and reminds us the wait is almost over, with Atomic Heart launching on PS5 and PS4 next week, on 21st February. Will you be doing things "The Atomic Way"? Let us know in the comments section below.

The Hogwarts Legacy shoutout is funny
Yes, I will be doing things "The Atomic Way"! Hilarious trailer!
They really need to cast Jensen as the new DCU Batman.
Funny trailer!
Having some pure unadulterated fun clobbering them enemies "The Atomic Way" will indeed be a welcomed change of pace after finishing the lengthy Hogwarts Legacy : )
Great trailer, hearing mixed things, but looking forward this game
Aside: I haven't seen that guy since Smallville, his voice has changed! Deep and gravelly, wasn't expecting it, I remember far more preppiness.
As a huge Supernatural fan (and The Boys of course) it always brings a smile to my face to see either of the Winchesters on TV.
I'm going to hold up on Atomic Heart for now though. I'm still working on Hogwarts and then Ishin is next in line. Maybe after that one though.
@themightyant His voice changed drastically when he started starring in Supernatural (right after Smallville). It reminds me of the guy who recently played Elvis and decided to keep his newfound voice.
I loved his style in Supernatural, and then in The Boys. So cool!
@naruball Good knowledge, thanks. I knew he was in that TV show, and that it seemingly went on forever, but I never once saw it.
Yes Austin Butler was also a teen heartthrob with a squeaky voice, now not so.
Always bizarre when you haven't seen someone in ages and you are expecting something else to come out of their mouth. Just wasn't expecting grizzled. lol
I'll ignore this game, as it is made by russian developer.
Also it has many cultural references to soviet era symbols and overall I consider its art style very political and propagandistic.
Hopefully, this message won't be banned, as I tried to articulate my thoughts as politically correct, as I could.
I see it as 'this year's Doom Eternal +Animal Crossing.'
Atomic Heart's Dean Winchester saves the day.
That's a fun commercial, it will be way cooler if he's in the game though
@Blacksmith1985 Surely a game about the downfall of a reckless power that abuses it's workers and leads to the formation of a hellish dystopia isn't a great advertisement 😂 It's as much propaganda for communist USSR as Bioshock is for a Western, capitalistic society like the US.
Personally, I'll be buying this game around the release period. I don't necessarily agree with everything their government does but I don't wish ill upon the Russian people or Mundfish. They still need some forms of business and I'm happy to provide it for a product that I see as a more critical take on the USSR, which is very different to modern day Russia anyway.
Each to their own though. I find following the thread of most companies will lead you to something you strongly disagree with. But I understand that if you're from Ukraine then you'd err on the side of caution at the very least in this case.
@Blacksmith1985 I see it less as propaganda and more so critical of Soviet views given the synopsis.
I mean Wolfenstein wouldn't be considered N*zi propaganda despite having all the symbols.
@Blacksmith1985 not all Russians are bad people i dont think they all deserve to be hated and cancelled
@Blacksmith1985
Not buying a game just because the developers are of a certain nationality is incredibly narrowminded. Also just because a piece of media uses certain symbols doesn't make it propoganda for that specific ideology. Wolfenstein has Swastikas all over the damn place but it most certainly is not pro-Nazi.
what a stupid commercial.
This game is going to be mediocre in every sense of the word.
@PegasusActual93 I'm sure Wolfenstein's historical sybols are banned in German version of the game.
Germany itself doesn't want to be associated with those symbols until this day.
Russia's invasion is happening right now, at the very present day. That is why I'm against supporting anything russian, until the day they drive their armed forces away from UA territory.
For russians, USSR=Russia, and this war is their take on restoring their borders, as USSR, which is not acceptable.
And this is why you shouldn't consider USSR themes, as historical.
I hope you get my point and why I strongly disagree with your vision of the current situation.
